With the release of version 0.6.17 the Bifrost Wallet team is excited to announce support for FTSO v2, bringing a range of highly anticipated upgrades to our users.
FTSO (Flare Time Series Oracle) is a core component of the Flare Network, providing decentralized price feeds and data to the ecosystem. The new version, FTSO v2, introduces several improvements aimed at enhancing performance and scalability.
Here’s what you need to know about the latest updates and how they impact Bifrost Wallet users.
Key Upgrades in FTSO v2
Faster Regular Updates
Updates now occur every 90 seconds, significantly reducing the update interval from the previous 180 seconds. This ensures more timely and accurate data feeds.
Support for More Feeds
FTSO v2 can handle up to 1000 feeds, a substantial increase from previously. This greatly enhances the versatility of the data provided.

What Bifrost Wallet Users Need to Know
Bifrost Claim Bot
If you have activated the Bifrost Claim Bot, no action is required on your part. Our team ensures the claim bot is up-to-date and continues to claim rewards for you seamlessly.

FTSO v2 on Songbird and Flare
Currently, FTSO v2 is being rolled out on the Songbird network. It will be introduced to the Flare network later this year.
Changes in Reward Epochs
On Songbird, reward epochs are now 3.5 days long, reduced from the previous 7 days. This means that the reward epoch lengths and start times are aligned between Flare and Songbird.
Phased Rollout
The rollout of FTSO v2 will occur in phases, you will gradually see rewards shift from v1 to v2.
Trial Phase: No rewards will be distributed for FTSO v2.
Beta Phase: Rewards are split 50/50 between FTSO v1 and v2. During this time, you will see two blocks of information about ongoing epochs.
Full Deployment: All rewards will be allocated to FTSO v2 as FTSO v1 is deprecated.
Reward Distribution
Expect some delay between the end of a reward epoch and the availability of rewards due to reward calculations and verification. During this time, your Bifrost Wallet will indicate that the epoch is finalizing.
Reward Distribution Frequency
Initially, rewards will be distributed every 14 days. This will soon change to distributions occurring immediately after each reward epoch.
Display of Reward Accumulation
On-chain reward accumulation is not available for FTSO v2 and will not be displayed in the Bifrost Wallet.
Manual claiming
Manual claiming is available in Bifrost Wallet from version 0.6.17. If you want to claim manually before that version is available for your device, check out the Flare Portal.
